Editorial Standards

These standards govern everything we publish. They are not aspirational. They are requirements.

Source attribution

Every factual claim must link to a primary source. We prefer official filings, peer-reviewed research, and direct statements over secondary reporting. When we rely on secondary sources, we identify them as such.

Confidence levels

Briefs carry a confidence rating: high (multiple independent sources or official announcement), medium (single credible source, not independently verified), or low (rumor, leak, or unverified claim). We publish low-confidence briefs only when the potential impact warrants coverage.

Corrections

We correct errors promptly and transparently. Corrections are appended to the article with the date and nature of the change. We do not silently edit published content.

AI disclosure

We use AI tools for research assistance, data analysis, and draft preparation. All published content is reviewed and edited by humans. We do not use AI to generate quotes, fabricate sources, or create content that is presented as entirely human-written without disclosure.

Independence

We do not accept payment for coverage. Sponsored content, if we ever publish it, will be clearly labeled as such. Our editorial decisions are independent of advertising or partnership relationships.

What we do not do

  • We do not claim to have tested products we have not tested.
  • We do not present analysis as hands-on review.
  • We do not use anonymous sources without clearly stating the information is unverified.
  • We do not publish press releases as articles.
